The Lab Safety Evaluation checklist is an appraisal of general safety precautions and chemical hygiene efforts in accordance with the Laboratory Safety Manual. This evaluation provides a mechanism for identifying safety weaknesses and an opportunity to correct safety deficiencies.
- Routine inspection may consist of self-reviews by laboratory users/occupants on a daily basis.
- Document safety inspections by lab supervisors or units on a periodic basis.
- Anticipate random inspections by the University Lab Safety Committee, university EHS Dept, and formal compliance inspections by regulatory agencies.
- It is important that concerns be promptly addressed and
corrected to reduce the risk of an accident or injury.
